Northwest Farm Credit Services Announces 2019 Scholarship Recipients

 

SPOKANE, Wash. (June 18, 2019) – Northwest Farm Credit Services has awarded 85 students from its five-state territory (Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Alaska) a total of $212,500 in scholarships. All scholarships are $2,500 each. The list of winners is available here.

Land Grant University Scholarships
Northwest FCS Land Grant University Scholarships support undergraduate students pursuing a degree in agricultural business, or related field of study, by providing two, $2,500 scholarships at each of the land grant universities in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.

Minority Scholarships
Northwest FCS Minority scholarships support academic achievement and the advancement of diversity by awarding $2,500 scholarships to students pursuing degrees in agriculture/finance/ business in the Northwest.

Graduate Scholarships
Two $2,500 scholarships are awarded to graduate school students who are enrolled in graduate-level courses and plan to use their education to make a positive impact in the rural community. Any career field or major is eligible. Scholarship winners are selected based on school and community involvement, scholastic performance and educational goals.

Undergraduate Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to sons and daughters of Northwest FCS employees and customers and their employees who are graduating high school students or current college students attending classes in the fall of 2019. Any career field or major is eligible. Scholarship winners are selected based on school and community involvement, scholastic performance and educational goals.

Since the program began in 2007, Northwest FCS has awarded $1.409 million in scholarships to 815 Northwest students.
