One New Director Elected and Two Directors Re-elected to Northwest Farm Credit Services' Board

Spokane, Washington (Feb. 26, 2020) – Stockholders of Northwest Farm Credit Services elected Bill Martin of Rufus, Oregon, and re-elected Susan Doverspike of Burns, Oregon, and Skip Gray of Albany, Oregon, to the Northwest FCS Board of Directors. Each will serve a five-year term ending in 2025.

Bill Martin, a Farm Credit customer for 20 years, is owner and president of Martin Farms comprising 10,000 acres of dryland wheat and 700 irrigated acres, including 150 certified-organic acres. They grow alfalfa, bluegrass seed, tealeaf mint, garlic, seed wheat, hemp and other herbs, and run a cow calf operation. Martin is also director of Mid-Columbia Producers, a farmer-owned cooperative and most recently served as a Northwest FCS local advisor out of The Dalles.

Susan Doverspike and her husband own and operate a cattle ranch in the high desert near Burns, Oregon. She’s been a Farm Credit customer for 20 years. Doverspike is on the board of directors of Harney District Hospital and a member of Oregon Cattlemen's Association; Harney County Farm Bureau; Oregon Farm Bureau; and Oregon CattleWomen Association.

Skip Gray, a Farm Credit customer for 39 years, owns and operates a diversified business that produces vegetable and flower seeds, processed vegetables, hazelnuts and grass seed. He has served as treasurer for the Specialty Seed Growers of Western Oregon; past chair of the Farm Service Agency County Committee; past president of the Association of Agricultural Professional Executives; and a participant of The Executive Program for Agriculture Producers.

In addition to Doverspike, Gray and Martin, members of the Northwest FCS board include Christy Burmeister-Smith of Newman Lake, Washington; Nels J DeBruycker of Choteau, Montana; Dave Hedlin of Mount Vernon, Washington; John Helle of Dillon, Montana; Greg Hirai of Wendell, Idaho; Dave Nisbet of Bay Center, Washington; Nate Riggers of Nezperce, Idaho; Derek Schafer of Ritzville, Washington; Karen Schott of Broadview, Montana; Julie Shiflett of Spokane, Washington; and Shawn Walters of Teton, Idaho.
