2019 Director Position Opportunities

Board of Director Positions Available for Election in 2019

The 2018 Nominating Committee will meet this spring to consider candidates to run for a position on the Northwest FCS board of directors in 2019 for Region 3 (Spokane, Colfax, Walla Walla, Lewiston, Cottonwood) and for Region 10 (Nampa, Twin Falls, Burley). Nate Riggers currently serves as the director in Region 3, and Greg Hirai serves as the director in Region 10.
The Nominating Committee will select two candidates from both regions, who will be placed on the ballot and voted on by voting stockholders in the February 2019 director elections. The successful candidate will serve a 5-year term, beginning in March 2019. This is a compensated position. All candidates will be required to provide information on business/financial relationships, financial disclosures and other information needed to establish eligibility and that are required by law and/or Northwest FCS bylaws and applicable board policies.
To be eligible to run for a director position, you must:
  • Be a customer of and own voting stock in Northwest FCS;
  • Live in or have a substantial part of your operation in the region you are interested in representing; and
  • Have loan(s) in good standing.
The Nominating Committee will also look for certain skills and characteristics that make a director effective. These include:
  • Actively engaged in a farming/agricultural operation.
  • Prior board experience – preferably fiduciary versus advisory boards or committees.
  • Strong interpersonal/social skills.
  • Active/respected in the community and industry.
  • Diversity of all types.
  • Formal education – Bachelor's or other advanced/specialized degrees or studies.
  • Integrity, honesty and trusted by everyone you deal with.
