Consider this: The United Nations projects world population will rise to more than 9 billion people by the year 2050 and require between 30 and 70 percent more food. More mouths to feed is one driver behind innovation in ag technology. Other drivers include food safety, labor availability, regulations, natural resource constraints and changing climate patterns.
