Northwest Farm Credit Services’ Local Advisory Committees Award $4 Million to 98 Northwest Organizations
SPOKANE, Washington (Aug. 24, 2022 ) – Guided by their Local Advisory Committees (LAC), Northwest Farm Credit Services is proud to award $4 million to organizations in rural Northwest communities.
As a cooperative, Northwest Farm Credit Services’ purpose is to improve the lives of their customers and employees, the communities where they work and raise their families and the Northwest agriculture, food and fiber industries. In pursuit of this purpose, stewardship investments are made in a variety of ways to support rural communities. This investment of resources is guided by LAC members, who serve as a liaison between Northwest FCS and their customers and communities.
With the LAC’s recommendations, 98 projects throughout the Northwest were approved to receive funds. See the full list of organizations awarded funds here.
"As a new Local Advisory Committee member, it was incredibly meaningful to be involved in this stewardship initiative,” said Amy Frye, Washington LAC member. “It's clear that Northwest Farm Credit Services cares deeply about the health of the rural communities which it serves. Contributions of this nature are rare opportunities, and these funds will have significant impacts for the recipient organizations and our Northwest region more broadly."
